Uganda National Park Fees and UWA Tariff 2026-2027: Permits, Entrance and Activities

Every park fee and activity rate we use when planning your safari, taken from the Uganda Wildlife Authority tariff and its 2026 notice.

This page collects the fees charged by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) for tourists in national parks and wildlife reserves. It is based on UWA's Conservation Tariff for July 2024 to June 2026 and on UWA's letter of 26 February 2026, which introduced low-season primate permit rates and a revised tariff from 1 January 2027.

Use it to understand what a Uganda safari really costs before you compare quotes, then see what affects the cost of a Uganda safari and how gorilla permits work. Every activity below links to its own guide.

At a glance

  • Low season (April, May, November): Gorilla tracking $600 (FNR) or $500 (FR); chimpanzee tracking $200 (FNR) or $150 (FR). See low season permits
  • From 1 January 2027: Revised tariff for habituation, chimpanzee, lion and guided walk rates. See the notice
  • Reservations: The 7-day payment-free reservation window ended on 1 March 2026; permits now need full payment at booking
  • Who pays what: FNR foreign non-resident, FR foreign resident, ROA rest of Africa, EAC East African citizens
