Commercial Filming and Photography in Uganda's National Parks

Planning a shoot? Here is how UWA charges for commercial filming and drones.

Commercial filming and photography in Uganda's protected areas needs prior booking with UWA. Fees are calculated as a percentage of the normal activity and entrance fees, not a fixed amount.

This page is for film crews and commercial photographers. For holiday photography tips, see wildlife photography safaris.

At a glance

  • Standard filming: 40% of activity and entrance fees
  • Drone filming: 50% of the activity fee
  • Booking: Prior booking needed
  • Details: Check www.ugandawildlife.org

How Fees Work

All filming fees are charged at 40% of the activity and entrance fee for each filming activity. Filming with a drone is charged at 50% of the activity. Prior booking is needed. Ask our team to coordinate permits and logistics for a shoot.

About these rates. UWA states that tariff fees are subject to change without prior notice. FNR = foreign non-resident, FR = foreign resident, ROA = rest of Africa, EAC = citizen of an East African Community member state (paid in UGX).
