Where This Fits in a Uganda Itinerary
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south-western Uganda is the main gorilla trekking destination, with separate sectors including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo. Travellers often use free time around a trek for forest walks, birding and community visits.
Because it connects two sectors, it can double as a transfer day for travellers moving between them. Whatever you choose, build days around travel time: driving distances between the parks are long, and early starts are normal on a Uganda safari.
