Serengeti Hot Air Balloon Safari: Sunrise Flight, Bush Breakfast and Practical Tips
Float over the Serengeti plains at first light, then land for a breakfast in the bush.
Balloon flights in the Serengeti lift off near Seronera before sunrise and last about an hour. As the sun rises, the grassland turns gold, and herds, hippo pools and tracks come into focus. The balloon cannot be steered, so the route follows the wind.
After landing, guests are met by a ground crew who set up a bush breakfast with sparkling wine. The activity is booked through lodges and operators, and spaces are limited. For the Kenyan version, see the Masai Mara balloon safari.

There are minimum age and health requirements, and passengers should be able to climb into a basket. Flights depend on wind and visibility.
Booking Tips
Place the balloon on a day without a long transfer. Book early in busy months, and check weather policies. Pair it with the Seronera region for ground game drives.
