The Nile River in Uganda: Source at Jinja, Murchison Falls and Beyond

The White Nile begins its journey to the Mediterranean in Uganda, and you can raft, cruise and fish on it.

The Nile in Uganda starts where the water of Lake Victoria spills out near Jinja. From there the Victoria Nile runs north through Lake Kyoga, drops through the narrow gorge at Murchison Falls, enters Lake Albert and leaves it as the Albert Nile towards South Sudan, Sudan and Egypt.

This stretch of the river is a centre of adventure tourism and wildlife viewing. See Jinja and the source of the Nile, white-water rafting and Murchison Falls National Park.
