A Forest of Bamboo and Birds

Echuya Forest Reserve lies between Kabale and Kisoro along the road to the gorilla parks. Mountain bamboo covers much of it, along with pockets of tall forest and swamps. The reserve is home to Albertine Rift endemics, including the Grauer's swamp warbler, which is found in few other places.

Walks are led by local guides and are usually short, with a chance to see colobus monkeys and many birds.
